Warli decoration is wall painting using very basic graphic vocabulary.....circle, square and triangle and painted on hut walls made from tree branches and covered with cow dung. This gives a red ochre background. Imagery is painted in a white pigment made from rice paste, water and a gum.
* Even though we have retired from attending Ceramics shows and markets we have recently been invited to show in an 'INSPIRED BY INDIA' exhibition at the ' WET PAINT GALLERY' in Chalford, Stroud, Gloucestershire. The exhibition features the work of four painters and with fifteen ceramic pieces from ourselves.
The exhibition runs from 16th march until 20th April with an open day on 16th March from 12:00 'til 3:00pm at the gallery and Garry will be in attendance at that time.
